Privacy and security

Private by design.
Controlled by access.

Service Assistant is built around registered membership, protected room access and temporary conversation spaces. The service is designed to reduce unnecessary exposure while giving members clear control over how rooms are accessed.

Security is layered

No single feature provides complete protection. Service Assistant combines account access, room validation and user-selected controls.

  • Active member account required
  • Protected invitation validation
  • Optional additional room code
  • Temporary room availability
  • Clear sign-out controls
No public room directory No guest access No advertising inside rooms Member-controlled access
Core approach

Privacy begins with limiting who can enter.

Service Assistant does not operate as an open public chat platform. Every participant must use their own registered account and active membership.

1

Member authentication

Each participant signs in with an individual account before room access can be considered.

2

Invitation validation

The invitation is checked against the intended room and authorised member access.

3

Optional room protection

The room creator can require another code when additional access control is appropriate.

Information handling
MEMBERSHIP RECORD Minimum account information Basic account, membership status and transaction reference information may be retained so access can be managed.
PAYMENT PROCESSING Provider-hosted payments Sensitive payment details are handled by the payment provider rather than stored directly by Service Assistant.
ROOM CONTENT Temporary conversation spaces Rooms are designed for temporary use and are not intended to create a permanent public message history.
Data minimisation

Only keep what the service needs to operate.

Service Assistant is designed to separate account administration from private room use wherever practical.

Account information

Name, email, membership status and necessary service records.

Transaction references

Payment status and provider references needed to manage membership.

Operational security records

Limited technical records may be used to protect accounts and investigate misuse.

No public profiles

Members are not placed in a searchable public directory.

Your responsibility

Website security cannot fix an unsafe device.

Members should consider the browser, device, internet connection and physical surroundings used to access the service.

Browser

Keep it updated, review saved passwords and understand private browsing limits.

Device

Use a trusted device protected by a passcode, updates and appropriate security software.

Connection

Avoid untrusted networks and understand what a VPN can and cannot protect.

Surroundings

Consider who can see the screen, notifications or browser history on a shared device.

Discreet presentation

Appearance supports privacy, but it is not security.

Service-style themes can make a room appear ordinary on screen. They are designed to reduce unnecessary attention, but they do not replace login, invitation validation or room protection.

Ordinary service-style layout

Room headings and interface labels can match a familiar customer-service theme.

Theme-matched invitations

Invitation wording can be consistent with the selected presentation.

Security remains separate

Access still depends on membership, invitation validation and selected room controls.

Important limitations

No online service can promise complete secrecy.

Privacy depends on both the service and the way it is used. These practical limits should be understood before entering a room.

ScreenshotsA participant may capture what appears on their screen.
Compromised devicesSpyware, keyloggers or remote-access software may expose information.
Shared accountsMembers should never share login details or allow another person to use their account.
Physical accessAnyone with access to an unlocked device may see browser activity or notifications.
Unsafe linksMembers should only follow genuine Service Assistant invitations.
User behaviourPrivacy can be reduced when room codes or invitation details are shared carelessly.
Common questions

Privacy and security questions

Can someone enter a room without a membership?

No. Every participant must use their own registered account with an active membership.

Does a discreet theme make the room secure?

No. A theme changes appearance only. Security comes from account login, invitation validation and any additional room controls.

Does Service Assistant store my card details?

The intended billing process uses provider-hosted payment processing so sensitive payment details are handled by the payment provider.

Can someone take a screenshot?

Yes. No browser-based service can reliably prevent a participant from photographing or capturing their own screen.

What should I do on a shared device?

Use a private browser window where appropriate, sign out fully, close all private tabs and make sure saved passwords or notifications are not exposed.
